Latest Craft and Hobby

For about a year or maybe more I have been telling myself I was going to make a heating pad for my neck and back instead of buying one. I have looked up a number of times on what would be required to make one and it is fairly simple. I even purchased lavender and flax seed, which has been stowed away for just awhile.

Recently I built up my motivation to make one and just in time! The next day I came down with the flu and bronchitis. Needless to say it worked like a charm! Being microwavable I didn't need to worry about falling asleep with it on and it kept heat just long enough.

To make I rather winged the pattern guesstimating distances. It worked out great and is simple and easy pattern if someone wanted to follow. Although, I was in rather a haste to make so I never bothered to add the lavender. Absolutely recommend making yourself vs store bought electric one.

ON OTHER NEWS:

I am now selling Kitsy Lane jewelry online! I am extremely excited about this new opportunity as I am in love with all of their pieces. Plus for me, I get bored with things quickly, they are always adding new pieces everyday instead of just the same old stuff for a number of months. On top of that you get to completely customize what you sell and your online shop.

A New Year, New Life Goals

Since I have moved to WI I have not been good at blogging or crafting for that matter. My new job has taken a great deal of my time and energy but as I start to settle into this new grown up life I am finding great strength in myself. I have always believe the saying "You can do whatever you set your mind to" and believe this even more so.

In this day and age we often tell ourselves we cant do things to talk ourselves out of expending the extra energy. Making changes and improving our lives is scary. Its not what we are used to and as creatures of habit and it is easier to stay miserable doing the same thing then making the change for better. On numerous levels this is true even down to the most minor detail.

We have all been there. I am hungry but I don't want to get up for food.  We have all done it and if you say you haven't, you are lying. Hell, I am pretty much doing that right now. Its easier to stay here on my laptop then get up and grab snack. Probably for the best considering I have gained a few pounds since living in the dairy state. In all seriousness, I have finally motivated myself to do a number of things I have been putting off.  Create a budget..and stick to it, start couponing again, look for freebies, crafting, baking and blog again. So far, pretty good.

While wondering the internet for good deals I managed to stole across a Kitsy Lane. It is a pretty cool website where anyone can purchase items that I get to pick out. I have always debated selling Tupperware or Pampered Chef but this falls right into my secret love, FASHION! I couldn't help but set-up my own boutique. I am looking at this new endeavor as a fun hobby to keep me from spending too much time at work. So on that note, if you are reading this you should check out my new boutique!

Look for new posts coming soon! I will be making a microwavable heating pad this weekend.
